13.what was most interesting of this week's dissection? crayfish and clam
Interesting thing is, crayfish and clam are both sea food we eat all the time. But often we don't pay attention to the detail of the body. How many legs it have or where the brains are located. Also, i thought dissection would be very disgusting, but i guess i was wrong. The dissection i didnt like were only grasshoppers and worms. I hate bugs but im ok with sea food. People eat them on daily basis and they're healthy.

12.What surprised you from the worm's dissection?
I was surprised by seeing how much dirt were inside the body of an earthworm. It was also disgusting seeing the brains. First I thought the earthworm were alive, but they weren't. When we start dissecting the worm, I thought the blood would come out, but it didn't. The smell of the earthworm also surprises me. I would never forget the smell of the worm, its like a smell of a marker.

11. Get a picture of alternation of generations put it in your blog and explain how it relates to plants.
Alternation of generation refers to life cycles where organisms have two different multicellular stages: one that is diploid, another that is haploid. This is different from human, humans are multicellular stages are usually diploid. The only time when its haploid its egg and sperm. Haploid is a cell or an organism having half of the number of chromosome in somatic cells. In the other hand, diploid means a cell or an organism consisting of two sets of chromosomes. Alternation of generation could also represent the life cycle of plants. The picture represents an example of alternation of generation. It is both multicellular diploid and multicellular haploid. On the undersurface of its base or leaves, it goes through meiosis to create haploid cells.

10.Why is dissection an important part of a biology curriculum? Which animals and/or plants should be included in biological studies?
Many people thinks dissecting animals is like slaughtering animals that are alive, but they're wrong. Many dissections doesn't involve spilling of any blood. People uses dead animals for dissections, to eliminate the need of killing million innocent animals. Dissections increase students' knowledge of biology, and also provides new information for the scientist. Nay sayer’s of the virtual dissection technique believe that the students will not receive the same level of instruction and understanding from dissecting animals on the computer. Many schools still continues to use real animals instead of computer, because of the cost of the program is too expensive.
